- MERA-India "Basic Mosquito Biology Training", is being organized to spread awareness about entomology and encourage Ph.D. students to contribute to vector-borne disease control and elimination by pursuing this field.

Key Features
- This is an excellent opportunity for young researchers to know the basics of entomology and to understand the deadly creatures/mosquitoes wandering in the community. The key features of the training include:
- Introduction of mosquito biology and its importance with respect to disease control and elimination by esteemed entomologist Dr. K Gunasekaran, former Scientist-G, ICMR-Vector Control Research Centre, Puducherry.
- ICMR-NIMR insectary visit, demonstration of mosquito developmental stages, species identification, male-female identification, and tissue dissections.
- Demonstration of membrane feeding assay and insecticide susceptibility assay.
- Interactive session with mosquito biology experts.

Shortlisted candidates will be intimated by e-mail. (Shortlisted participants will be required a recommendation/permission letter from the respective Ph.D. supervisor to attend the training)

- Applications/Registrations for the event are free of cost.
No travel allowance will be provided to attend the training.
- All the attending students will be given a Certificate of Participation.
